KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 28 (UPI) -- Ramon Hernandez hit a grand slam and Steve Trachsel pitched a complete game Monday as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals, 9-1.

Trachsel (4-3) scattered five hits while walking three for the Orioles, who have won three in a row. Hernandez scored two runs.

Scott Elarton (1-1) allowed seven runs on six hits over five innings for Kansas City, which has lost five straight.

Mike Sweeney drove in the Royals' only run.
