CORNING, N.Y., May 27 (UPI) -- Young Kim Sunday birdied two of the final five holes to win the LPGA Corning Classic at Corning, N.Y., by three shots over Mi Hyun Kim and Paula Creamer.
Kim shot 4-under 68 in the final round to end at 20-under 268, and withstood late challenges by both runners-up.
Kim (70) and Creamer (71) both held brief leads during the back nine, but were done in by late bogeys to finish 17-under 271.
"I feel really great and actually I cannot believe it," said the 27-year-old Kim, who won $195,000.
Second-round leader Beth Bader (72) and In Kyung Kim (68) finished in a tie for fourth at 16-under 272.
"It's obviously very disappointing," admitted Creamer, who had a chance to force a playoff with a birdie at the final hole. "I felt like I had been playing good all week."
