Report: Vick bet on dog fights

BRISTOL, Conn., May 27 (UPI) -- A police informant Sunday alleged Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick has been a "heavyweight" in illegal dog fighting activity.

Vick has denied claims of his involvement since pit bull fighting was uncovered this month at the farm he owned in Chesapeake, Va.

That allegation is under investigation by NFL security personnel and Virginia law enforcement.

"I've seen Vick," the informant told ESPN's Outside the Lines. "We beat him back in 2000. That dog was Michael's dog. Michael was not in the pit. Michael's thing is he came with all of the money."

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported Vick has been a participant at illegal dogfights, and that a tape exists to prove it.

Vick reportedly sold the property May 9, which he said he never used.
