MLB: LA Dodgers 2, Chi. Cubs 1

LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- Juan Pierre drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th Sunday as a hit batsman with the bases full, as the LA Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs, 2-1.

With the game tied, 1-1, Pierre was hit on the left knee with a 2-2 pitch to force in the winning run.

Andre Ethier hit a solo home run for the Dodgers, who were held to four hits, but remained tied with San Diego atop the NL West Division, with the fourth win in their last five games.

The winner was Chad Billingsley (3-0).

Los Angeles starter Randy Wolf scattered three hits over six scoreless innings, with two walks and five strikeouts.

Cubs starter Rich Hill was just as effective, scattering three hits over six shutout innings, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Derrek Lee hit an RBI single, Angel Pagan had two hits, and Alfonso Soriano had a run and two hits for the Cubs, who have split their last four games.

The loser was Angel Guzman (0-1).
