The scheduled re-start of the second round was delayed nearly six hours, and play was suspended as darkness -- and possibly more storms -- approached.

The third round is scheduled to resume Sunday morning at 8 a.m. local time.

Two weather delays Thursday pushed completion of the first round until Friday. Further storms Saturday caused a 5 1/2-hour delay before the second round could be re-started -- at 2 p.m. local time.

A cut was made about 90 minutes later, and the third round didn't begin until 3:45.

When play was suspended Saturday night, six players shared the lead at 9-under with no one in the field having finished their round.

Scott Verplank, a winner at the Byron Nelson last month, was the furthest along among the six, through 13.

The best-of-three series was tied at one match each after the singles play, leaving the doubles to decide the championship.

Acasuso and Calleri went against the Czech tandem of Tomas Berdych and Martin Damm, dropping the first set, 2-6. The Argentines won the final four games to take the second set, 6-4. That set up the first-to-10 match tiebreaker, which the Argentine twosome won, 10-4.

The Czechs won the four-nation Blue Group in round-robin play with a perfect 3-0 record.

In Saturday's final, Berdych posted a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), victory over Juan Ignacio Chela. But Calleri then beat Jan Hajek, 6-3, 6-1.

Argentina won for the third time, having also won in 1980 and 2002.

Garrigues beats Mauresmo at Strasbourg

STRASBOURG, France, May 26 (UPI) -- Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues prepared for the French Open Saturday with a win over France's Amelie Mauresmo in the final at the Strasbourg International.

Medina Garrigues posted a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, victory for her second title in Strasbourg. She also won this tournament in 2005 and now has seven career WTA singles crowns.

Mauresmo, the top seed, played her second straight three-set match. She had to struggle past fellow Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli in Friday's semifinals.

Medina Garrigues didn't play Friday thanks to a walkover win against an ill Jelena Jankovic. The extra rest appeared to help Medina Garrigues, who had never beaten Mauresmo in four previous matches.

Mauresmo was seeking her second title of 2007 and the 25th of her career. She won in Antwerp in February but lost a title match later that month in Dubai to Justine Henin.
