NBA: Cleveland 7, Detroit 4

DETROIT, May 25 (UPI) -- Casey Blake and Victor Martinez homered in the first inning Friday night, propelling the Cleveland Indians to a 7-4 win over Detroit.

The Indians moved a half game in front of the Tigers for first place in the American League Central.

Josh Barfield added a home run for Cleveland, winners of six out of eight.

Paul Byrd (5-1) took advantage of the home run support to pick up the win, allowing four runs on nine hits in 6 1/3.

Joe Borowski recorded his 15th save.

Detroit starter Nate Robertson (4-4) surrendered five runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3.
