EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., May 24 (UPI) -- Jozy Altidore scored just 55 seconds into the game Thursday night and the New York Red Bulls went on to blank Chicago, 3-0.

It was the fastest goal to start a game in franchise history, and came from a 17-year-old striker who was forced into the middle of his team's offense because of various injuries on the team.

New York improved to 5-1-2, the club's best start ever.

Juan Pablo Angel scored in the third minute and added a goal with 22 minutes remaining in the contest. Jon Conway made a career-high 10 saves.

The Fire fell to 3-4-1.
