DETROIT, May 24 (UPI) -- Carlos Guillen hit two home runs and drove in five runs Thursday afternoon, pacing the Detroit Tigers to a 12-0 rout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Guillen had a three-run home run in the first inning and added a two-run shot in the sixth to completed the Tigers scoring.
Jeremy Bonderman (3-0) picked up the win with eight scoreless innings. He allowed four hits --all singles -- and walked five while striking out six. He had just been activated off the 15-day disabled list, where he'd been placed because of a blister on his right middle finger.
Magglio Ordonez went 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, Gary Sheffield had a solo homer among three runs and two hits, Curtis Granderson had two runs, two hits, and one RBI, while Placido Polanco and Mike Rabelo both had one RBI for the Tigers, who have won four times in their last five games.
Losing pitcher Ervin Santana (3-6) allowed eight earned runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.
