MLB: Kansas City 4, Cleveland 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 22 (UPI) -- Mark Teahen's bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning forced in the winning run Tuesday, allowing the Kansas City Royals to slip by the Cleveland Indians 4-3.

Mike Sweeney hit a two-run home run for the Royals, who have won seven of their last nine games.

Zach Greinke (2-4) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Starter Odalis Perez yielded three runs on seven hits over six innings.

Tom Mastny (3-2) took the loss after opening the seventh in relief of starter Fausto Carmona. After striking out Ryan Shealy, Mastny allowed a single to John Buck, a double to Tony Pena and intentionally walked David DeJesus before Mark Grudzielanek popped out to third.

Aaron Fultz came on to face Teahen, who drew a four-pitch walk to give the Royals the 4-3 lead.

Carmona, who lost his scoreless streak at 19 innings, got a no-decision after winning five straight games for Cleveland. He surrendered three runs on nine hits over six innings.
