MLB: Chi. White Sox 10, Chi. Cubs 6

CHICAGO, May 20 (UPI) -- A.J. Pierzynski belted a grand slam homer Sunday to help the Chicago White Sox down the Chicago Cubs, 10-6.

The rain-delayed victory helped the White Sox avoid a three-game sweep to their crosstown rivals in inter-league play.

Jermaine Dye hit a solo home run, Rob Mackowiak and Jose Uribe both had two RBI, Paul Konerko had two runs and two hits, Darin Erstad hit an RBI single, while Pierzynski and Mackowiak also had two hits for the White Sox, whose seven-run seventh helped them split their last four games.

Winner Nick Masset (2-1) yielded two earned runs and three hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Reliever David Aardsma allowed four earned runs.

Aramis Ramirez hit a three-run homer and had two of the seven hits, Jacque Jones and Daryle Ward both had one RBI, while one run scored on a wild pitch for the Cubs, who have split their last four.

Loser Carlos Zambrano (4-4) surrendered seven earned runs in 6 2/3 innings.
