MLB: Baltimore 3, Washington 2 (11)

WASHINGTON, May 19 (UPI) -- Jay Payton hit a two-run double in the top of the 11th inning Saturday as Baltimore edged Washington 3-2.

Aubrey Huff hit a sacrifice fly for the Orioles' other run. Payton had two hits, and Melvin Mora had a run and two hits, while Nick Markakis had three hits for the Orioles, who try for a three-game series sweep Sunday.

The winner was John Parrish (2-0). Closer Chris Ray recorded his 10th save of the season.

Nook Logan and Tony Batista both drove in one run, and Dmitri Young had two of the six hits for the Nationals, who have split their last four overall.

The loser was Winston Abreu (0-1).

Starter Mike Bacsik gave up five hits in six scoreless innings with one walk and one strikeout.
