DENVER, May 18 (UPI) -- Emil Brown highlighted a five-run eighth with a three-run homer Friday, rallying Kansas City to a 5-2 win over Colorado.

It was Kansas City's third straight victory and the Royals' fifth in six games. Mark Teahen and Shane Costa both drove in runs during the big inning.

Colorado starter Jeff Francis gave up one run on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings, but the Rockies coughed up the lead when Manny Corpas (0-2) could retire only one batter while giving up four runs on five hits.

The comeback made a winner out of Brandon Duckworth (1-3), who retired the last two men in the seventh and then worked a scoreless eighth.

Joakim Soria worked out of a jam in the ninth to claim his ninth save.
