Favre says he never asked for trade

GREEN BAY, Wis., May 14 (UPI) -- Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre denied he asked to be traded after the Packers failed to obtain wide receiver Randy Moss from the Oakland Raiders.

Reports during the weekend claimed Favre agent Bus Cook sought a trade for his quarterback away from Green Bay after Moss was dealt from the Raiders to the New England Patriots. Favre Monday denied the rumors.

"I was frustrated a couple weeks back when Randy Moss was traded to New England," Favre said. "I never wanted to be traded and I don't want to be traded. I want to be in Green Bay. I want to finish my career as a Packer. Sometimes when I get frustrated I let my emotions get the better of me."

Favre said in February he would return to the Packers for his 17th NFL season.

The record-setting quarterback reportedly campaigned hard with Packers management to get Moss, a proven big-play wide receiver, for Green Bay. Moss went against Favre and the Packers often when he was a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
