BARCELONA, Spain, May 13 (UPI) -- Felipe Massa Sunday captured the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona, Spain.

Massa's No. 5 Ferrari crossed the finish line 6.7 seconds ahead of rookie Lewis Hamilton to give Massa his second win of the season and the fourth of his Formula One career.

The race featured a controversial moment when Massa and Fernando Alonso touched cars late. Alfonso, who was contending for the lead, dropped to third place after the near collision.

"I was just inside and went for it," said Massa. "It was a risk for both of us, but the first corner is important (and) I didn't want to lose like I lost in Malaysia."

Robert Kubica, David Coulthard, Nico Rosberg, Heikki Kovalainen and Takuma Sato completed the points-scoring positions.

In the points standings, Hamilton is the leader through four races with 30 points. Alonso has 28 points, and Massa is third with 27.

Hamilton is the youngest driver ever to lead the series.
