
TORONTO, May 12 (UPI) -- Lyle Overbay hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday afternoon as the Toronto Blue Jays edged Tampa Bay, 5-4.
The hit broke a 4-4 tie, and put Toronto in front for good.
Frank Thomas hit a two-run homer; Adam Lind hit a solo homer; Royce Clayton hit an RBI single; Vernon Wells had two runs and two hits; while Aaron Hill had a run and two hits for the Blue Jays -- who have won two in a row after a nine-game losing streak.
The winner was reliever Scott Downs (1-0). Jeremy Accardo recorded his first save of the season.
Carl Crawford hit a two-run homer and had two runs and two hits; Carlos Pena hit a solo shot; Ty Wigginton drove in a run; while Dioner Navarro also had two hits for the Devil Rays -- who have a six-game losing streak.
The losing pitcher was Brian Stokes (1-5).
