MLB: Boston 8, Toronto 0

TORONTO, May 10 (UPI) -- Tim Wakefield and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout Thursday, pitching Boston to an 8-0 win over reeling Toronto for its third straight victory.

Mike Lowell hit a three-run homer, while David Ortiz and Kevin Youkilis both drove in two runs to key the Red Sox' attack. Youkilis also scored two runs and collected three hits. Manny Ramirez also scored and drove in a run for the Red Sox, who have won four of their last five games.

Lowell has homered in three straight games.

Wakefield (4-3) gave up three hits in seven scoreless innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Hideki Okajima hurled a hitless eighth inning, and J.C. Romero gave up two hits in the ninth.

Adam Lind and Vernon Wells both had two hits for the Blue Jays, who suffered their ninth straight loss.

Losing pitcher Roy Halladay (4-2) surrendered eight runs -- seven earned -- and 11 hits in five innings.
