
PRAGUE, Czech Republic, May 8 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Marion Bartoli" class="tpstyle">Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli was a first-round winner but second-seeded Argentine Gisela Dulko was upset Tuesday at the Prague Open tennis.
Bartoli defeated unseeded Czech Kristyna Pliskova, 6-1, 6-2. Dulko -- who won her first WTA Tour championship two weeks ago in Prague -- lost to Slovakian qualifier Dominika Cibulkova, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
In two other upsets, Austrian Yvonne Meusburger beat fourth-seeded Dutchwoman Michaella Krajicek, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5; and Slovakian Jarmila Gajdosova beat eighth-seeded Russian Anastassia Rodionova, 6-1, 6-0.
Upsets were avoided when third-seeded Ukrainian Olga Poutchkova edged Czech wild card Karolina Pliskova, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5; and sixth-seeded Japanese Akiko Morigami defeated Czech wild card Iveta Benesova, 6-3, 6-2.
