SAN JOSE, Calif., May 7 (UPI) -- Dominik Hasek stopped all 28 shots he faced Monday night as the Detroit Red Wings beat San Jose, 2-0, to advance to the NHL Western Conference finals.

The Red Wings won the series four games to two, and next take on the Anaheim Ducks, who defeated Vancouver in five games in their semifinal series.

Mikael Samuelsson scored both goals for Detroit, which advanced to the conference finals for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup in 2002.

Evgeni Nabokov had 20 saves in defeat for the Sharks, who have lost their last six games in the post-season when facing elimination.
