MLS: D.C. United 2, Chivas USA 1

WASHINGTON, May 7 (UPI) -- Christian Gomez and Jaime Moreno scored once each Sunday as D.C. United beat Chivas USA, 2-1, in a Major League Soccer contest in Washington.

Goalkeeper Troy Perkins made eight saves as United won its first game of the season after three losses and a tie.

Gomez scored in the 48th minute and Moreno's goal came on a penalty kick in the 65th minute.

Maykel Galindo scored in the 73rd minute, while goalkeeper Brad Guzan made four saves for Chivas (2-3-0), which blew several scoring chances.

United is off until May 19 against Toronto FC, while Chivas is at Columbus next Saturday.
