MLB: Texas 3, Toronto 2

ARLINGTON, Texas, May 6 (UPI) -- Michael Young hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning Sunday as the Texas Rangers edged Toronto, 3-2, completing a three-game sweep.

Kenny Lofton and Mark Teixeira also hit solo homers, while Teixeira and Young had two hits each for the Rangers, who have split their last six games.

Starter Kameron Loe gave up one earned run and only three hits in 6 2/3 innings, with one walk and six strikeouts.

Akinori Otsuka recorded his fourth save of the season.

Troy Glaus hit a solo homer, and Adam Lind hit an RBI single for the Blue Jays, who had only five hits while suffering their sixth straight loss.

Losing pitcher A.J. Burnett (2-3) surrendered all three Texas home runs, giving up three earned runs and seven hits in 7 2/3 innings, with one walk and nine strikeouts.
