MINNEAPOLIS, May 6 (UPI) -- J.D. Drew had a hit and two RBI Sunday as the Boston Red Sox beat Minnesota, 4-3, for their second win in the three-game series.
Jason Varitek and Kevin Youkilis hit RBI singles; Dustin Pedroia had a run and three hits; and Alex Cora had a run and two hits for the AL East-leading Red Sox -- who have won four of their last five games overall.
Winner Curt Schilling (4-1) gave up three earned runs and eight hits over 6 2/3 innings, with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Jonathan Papelbon earned his 10th save of the season.
Jason Tyner hit a two-run single; Torii Hunter had two hits and one RBI -- extending his hitting streak to 21 games; while both Mike Redmond and Luis Castillo had a run and two hits for the Twins -- who have lost four of five.
Loser Sidney Ponson (2-4) gave up four runs -- three earned -- and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings, with four walks and five strikeouts.
