New York was buoyed by Roger Clemens' announcement at Yankee Stadium during the game that he would return to pitch for the team this season.

The pro-rated contract for the seven-time Cy Young Award winner is worth $28 million.

Jose Vidro had two of the four hits for the Mariners, who have dropped three of four.
