MILAN, Italy, May 5 (UPI) -- Andrew McLardy of Zimbabwe shot 7-under-par 65 Saturday to grab the lead after two rain-delayed rounds of the Italian Open in Milan.
McLardy was 14-under 130 after 36 holes, and had a one-shot lead over England's Nick Dougherty (64). Dougherty is 13-under-par 131.
"I think about it a lot, this isn't really pressure compared to the baby coming and you just want it healthy with its hearing and eyesight and everything," said McLardy, whose first child is expected be born on May 24 by Caesarean section. "So far, all the scans have been good and we know it is a little girl."
"I keep putting myself in position but I am just not finishing it off," said Dougherty. "I am not doing anything wrong."
First-round leader Joakim Backstrom (70) of Sweden shares third place at 12-under 132 with Austria's Markus Brier (69) and Alvaro Quiros (67) of Spain.
