
NEW YORK, May 4 (UPI) -- Home runs by Kenji Johjima, Adrian Beltre and Jose Lopez were part of a 20-hit attack Friday night, as the Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees, 15-11.
Seattle won for the fourth time in five games by mauling four New York pitchers and overcoming an early 5-0 deficit.
Raul Ibanez had four hits, while both Johjima and Yuniesky Betancourt had three for the Mariners.
New York starter Kei Igawa gave up eight runs in four innings, but the loss went to Colter Bean (0-1), who did not record an out while giving up four runs.
The win went to Eric O'Flaherty (1-0), who allowed one run over 2 1/3 relief innings.
New York took an 8-6 lead into the fifth, but the Mariners scored eight times in the inning. Seattle took a 10-8 advantage on Betancourt's two-run double.
