MLB: Chi. Cubs 5, Washington 3

CHICAGO, May 5 (UPI) -- Rich Hill scattered an earned run and six hits over six innings Saturday as the Chicago Cubs beat Washington, 5-3, for their fourth straight victory.

Aramis Ramirez had two hits, including a solo home run, Hill, Mark DeRosa, Jacque Jones, and Ryan Theriot all had one RBI, while Jones and Ramirez both had two hits for the Cubs, who have won seven of eight overall.

The Cubs' Derrek Lee hit a single in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

Hill (4-1) walked one batter and struck out four.

Austin Kearns and Jesus Flores both had one RBI, Flores had three hits, Ryan Zimmerman had a run and three hits, and a run scored on a double play groundout for the Nationals, who lost starter John Patterson to a right biceps injury in the third.

Washington has lost four in a row.

Patterson (1-5) gave up five earned runs and seven hits in two-plus innings.
