RICHMOND, Va., May 4 (UPI) -- Clint Bowyer pulled away over the final laps Friday night to win the NASCAR Busch Series Circuit City 250 at the Richmond International Raceway.

Bowyer finished 1.486 seconds ahead of Matt Kenseth.

It was the fifth Busch victory of Bowyer's career and his second this season.

Kenseth had a two-second lead in the race's final stages and seemed headed for victory, but a mishap involving Derrike Cope and J.J. Yeley brought out the caution flag.

There were 23 laps remaining when the green flag was displayed, and Bowyer was easily the fastest car during the closing minutes of the race. Kenseth grabbed second just ahead of Jeff Burton.

Carl Edwards retained his points lead in the series despite finishing 13th.
