MLB: Colorado 9, San Francisco 7

SAN FRANCISCO, May 2 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday homered and drove in four runs Tuesday, pacing Colorado to a 9-7 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Holliday, who finished with three hits, is on a career-high 14-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 17 of the last 19 games for at a .453 clip.

Brad Hawpe also had three hits and knocked in three runs for the Rockies, who had lost three of four prior to Tuesday.

Barry Bonds went hitless in four at-bats, leaving him at 742 career homers, 13 shy of Hank Aaron's all-time mark. Bengie Molina went 3-for-4 with two RBI for San Francisco, which has dropped four of its last five games.

Alberto Arias (1-0) got the win in his major league debut, allowing one hit over 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. Brian Fuentes fanned two batters in the ninth for his fifth save of the year.

Russ Ortiz (2-2) gave up nine hits and eight runs over 3 1/3 frames. Ortiz has lost four in a row to Colorado, surrendering 19 runs in 15 2/3 innings in that span.
