
PITTSBURGH, May 2 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano and Ryan Theriot combined for six hits and one RBI Wednesday as the Chicago Cubs beat Pittsburgh, 7-1, completing a doubleheader sweep.
Both players had three hits. Theriot scored three times and knocked in two runs, and Derek Lee had two hits and two RBI for the Cubs, who earlier completed a 6-5 victory in a game suspended by rain on Tuesday night.
Soriano hit a home run in both games.
The Cubs have won three of their last four games.
Winner Jason Marquis (4-1) gave up one earned run and just four hits in eight innings, with no walks and five strikeouts.
Ryan Doumit hit a solo homer, and Jason Bay had two of the four hits for the Pirates, who have dropped four of five.
Losing pitcher Ian Snell (2-2) yielded four earned runs and four hits in five innings.
