MADRID, April 27 (UPI) -- England's Stuart Little Friday shot 3-under-par 69 to lead the suspended second round of the European Tour's Spanish Open at Madrid.

Little's score through 36 holes is 8-under 136, one shot better than first-round leader and fellow Englishman Nick Dougherty (71), Mark Foster (69) -- also from England -- and South Africa's Charl Schwartzel (68).

Little had to finish his final eight holes alone when his playing partners -- Peter Hedblom (rib) of Sweden and Jose Manuel Lara (ankle) of Spain -- withdrew because of injuries.

Englishmen Simon Dyson (69) and Andrew Raitt (70) are in the clubhouse at 6-under 138. England's Marcus Fraser and Richard Bland of Australia are tied for seventh place at 5-under 139.

American Notah Begay III was the leader at 4-under 68 when Thursday's play was suspended because of rain, strong winds and -- finally -- darkness.

Because of Friday's weather-related suspension, half the field has yet to tee off for round two.
