MLB: St. Louis 5, Cincinnati 2

ST. LOUIS, April 25 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday as St. Louis beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-2.

Yadier Molina and Jim Edmonds each drove in a run, a run scored on a throwing error by Alex Gonzalez and Chris Duncan went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Cardinals, who have split their last four games.

The winner was reliever Randy Flores (1-0), while Jason Isringhausen recorded his fifth save of the season.

Josh Hamilton hit a solo home run, Scott Hatteberg drove in a run and Gonzalez had two of the five hits for the Reds, who have lost three of their last four games.

The losing pitcher was Kirk Saarloos (0-2).
