FRISCO, Texas, April 23 (UPI) -- Ramon Nunez scored two goals Sunday as FC Dallas beat the Colorado Rapids, 3-1.

With its victory, FC Dallas (2-1-1) assumed first place in the Western Conference.

Nunez' second goal came after the ball grazed the fingertips of Colorado goal keeper Bouna Coundoul in the 78th minute.

Dominic Oduro scored the other goal in the 93rd minute, and no saves were required from Hoops goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Jovan Kirovski scored the lone goal and Coundoul made four saves for the Rapids (1-1-1), who remain tied for second place in the West with defending MLS champion Houston.

Next week, the Hoops are at home against the New York Red Bulls on Thursday, while Colorado's next game is at Real Salt Lake on Monday, April 30.
