EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 22 (UPI) -- Jozmer Altidore scored the game's lone goal in the 60th minute Saturday night as the New York Red Bulls beat the Houston Dynamo, 1-0.

New York's Clint Mathis missed a penalty kick in the 10th minute and was assessed a straight red card in the 36th minute.

He was sent off for the seventh time in his career for making a reckless challenge on Houston's Ryan Cochrane.

Goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus stopped all three Houston shots on goal as New York improved to 2

1 for the season.

His Houston counterpart, Pat Onstad, also made three saves, but faced four shots on goal.

The Dynamo, who failed to score on two solid chances midway through the first half, fell to 1-1-1.
