Haas again wins the Legends of Golf

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 22 (UPI) -- Jay Haas parred the first playoff hole Sunday to beat Tom Kite and successfully defend his title at the Legends of Golf in Savannah, Ga.

Both players ended regulation with 54-hole totals of 9-under 207 to force the playoff.

Kite caught Haas with a closing-round 4-under 68, while Haas managed a 2-under 70.

Haas pocketed $395,000 for the win, which pushed him over the $1 million mark for the year.

Gil Morgan (67), Brad Bryant (70), Mark James (70) and Wayne Levi (70) tied for third place at 8-under 208.

Hale Irwin (69) and Nick Price (65) tied for seventh at 7-under 209.
