MLB: Colorado 7, LA Dodgers 2

DENVER, April 19 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs Wednesday as the Colorado Rockies downed the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-2.

The Rockies' Brad Hawpe contributed a pair of hits, including a double, walked twice and scored two runs. Steve Finley and Garrett Atkins collected two hits each for Denver, while Yorvit Torrealba and Troy Tulowitzki had two RBI apiece.

Taylor Buchholz (1-0) got the win in relief by yielding only four hits and one run over two innings. Starter Rodrigo Lopez gave up four hits and one run in four full innings before leaving with tightness in his throwing elbow.

Juan Pierre went 2-for-4 for the Dodgers, who saw their three-game win streak ended. Brady Clark and Andre Ethier scored the lone runs for Los Angeles.

Derek Lowe (2-2) took the loss after giving up eight hits and five runs -- four earned -- walking three and fanning only two in 4 2/3 innings. He has a 6.45 ERA in his last six starts in Denver.
