NEW ORLEANS, April 19 (UPI) -- Restricted free-agent cornerback Jason David of Super Bowl champion Indianapolis has signed a four-year offer sheet with the New Orleans Saints.

The 5-foot-8 inch, 180-pound David made 55 tackles and two interceptions for the Colts last season.

The NFL Network reported Thursday that the contract is expected to be the largest offer sheet signed during this off-season's free agent signing period, and addresses one of the Saints' major needs before next week's NFL Draft.

In three NFL seasons, David, considered a premier cover corner, has made 148 tackles and eight interceptions.

He joins wide receiver David Patten, linebackers Troy Evans and Trev Faulk, and tight end Calen Powell as free agents joining New Orleans this off-season.
