TORONTO, April 17 (UPI) -- Gustavo Chacin, pitching 6 2/3 innings, bested Japanese star Daisuke Matsuzaka Tuesday to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-1 win over the Boston Red Sox.

Chacin (2-0) allowed one run on six hits for the Blue Jays, who have won four of their last six games.

Lyle Overbay and Gregg Zaun each had an RBI in the winning effort.

Matsuzaka struck out 10 batters but suffered the loss in his third career start for the Red Sox, who saw their three-game win streak halted. Matsuzaka (1-2) allowed two runs on only three hits and issued three walks.

Wily Mo Pena's home run accounted for the only Boston score.
