PITTSBURGH, April 15 (UPI) -- A scheduled doubleheader between the San Francisco Giants and the Pirates was postponed Sunday because of continued inclement weather in the Pittsburgh area.

At game time, the forecast was for steady rain, which was already falling at PNC Park, and wind chills in the 20s.

The Pirates said on their Web site that the doubleheader will be rescheduled for a date later in the season. That date has not been determined.

The postponement ruined the Pirates' plans for a Jackie Robinson Day celebration. Robinson was honored by all home teams on Sunday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of his breaking baseball's color barrier.
