WASHINGTON, April 15 (UPI) -- Ben Gordon scored 30 points Sunday afternoon as the Chicago Bulls routed Washington, 101-68.
Chicago scored the game's first 12 points on the way to 49-27 halftime lead. Gordon set a tone for the second half, sinking a three-pointer on Chicago's first shot in the third quarter for a 52-29 advantage.
It was the 15th time this season that Gordon scored at least 30 points in a game.
Luol Deng had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Ben Wallace had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls, who won their third straight game to move 1/2 game ahead of idle Cleveland for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.
DeShawn Stevenson led Washington with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jarvis Hayes and Etan Thomas scored 11 points apiece for the Wizards, who suffered their worst loss while scoring a season-low point total.
They have lost seven of their last eight games.
