
DALLAS, April 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Boozer had 32 points and 15 rebounds Friday night to lead the Utah Jazz to a 104-89 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Utah expanded a seven-point lead after the first quarter to a 49-38 halftime advantage.
After a brief Dallas comeback in the third quarter, Utah outscored Dallas, 32-25, in the fourth to win going away.
Deron Williams had 17 points and nine assists; Derek Fisher scored 15 points; and Matt Harpring added 14 points and five rebounds for the Northwest Division champion Jazz, who moved to within one-half game of idle Houston for homecourt advantage in a first round Western Conference playoff series.
Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 23 points and four rebounds.
Reserve Jose Barea scored 16 points; and Josh Howard had 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists for the Mavericks, who have won the Southwest Division and have locked up homecourt advantage throughout the postseason.
