MLS: Houston 1, CD Chivas USA 0

HOUSTON, April 14 (UPI) -- Brian Ching scored the game's only goal Saturday night as the MLS defending champion Houston Dynamo beat CD Chivas USA, 1-0.

The Dynamo received their championship rings as winnes of the 2006 Major League Soccer Cup -- in a title drive in which Ching was named MLS Cup MVP.

He scored Saturday on a header off a Brad Davis free kick in the 64th minute. It was Houston's first goal in two games to start the MLS season.

Goalie Pat Onstad made three saves to post his second shutout of the campaign.
