NBA: New Jersey 100, New York 86

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 13 (UPI) -- Jason Kidd recorded his 12th triple-double of the season Friday night as the New Jersey nets beat New York, 100-86.

New Jersey exploded away from a 47-47 halftime tie to out-score New York, 31-14, in the third quarter and eliminate the Knicks from the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Vince Carter had 25 points, six rebounds and seven assists; Richard Jefferson had 24 points and three assists; while Kidd had 13 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for the Nets -- who moved 1 1/2 games ahead of Orlando for the seventh seed in the East.

Steve Francis led New York with 22 points and seven assists. Mardy Collins had 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists; while Eddy Curry had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks -- who have dropped 11 of their last 13 games.
