MLS: FC Dallas 2, Los Angeles 1

CARSON CITY, Calif., April 13 (UPI) -- Kenny Cooper scored in the 43rd minute Thursday night to help FC Dallas beat the Galaxy, 2-1, in a Major League Soccer contest in Carson City, Calif.

Carlos Ruiz scored on a penalty kick in the 35th minute, and Shaka Hislop needed to make only three saves for the winners.

0) got its first win of the new season while handing the Galaxy their first loss.

Rookie Robbie Findley scored in the 86th minute, and Joe Cannon made two saves for the Galaxy, who could not convert scoring chances in the second half.
