Jacquelin up by two at Volvo China Open

SHANGHAI, April 13 (UPI) -- Raphael Jacquelin turned in a four-under-par 67 Friday for a two-stroke lead halfway through the Volvo China Open.

Jacquelin's lead could have been bigger but he bogeyed his last two holes. Still he is at seven-under 135 after two rounds. Adam Blyth, who also shot 67 Friday, is in second at five-under 137. Scott Hend and Andres Romero share third at four-under 138.

Windy conditions again affected play.

Jacquelin opened on the back nine Friday with birdies on his first three holes and beat par on 14 and 17 to get to eight-under. A birdie at the fifth hole put Jacquelin at nine-under but he bogeyed Nos. 8 and 9 to settle at seven-under.

"When we started, it was dead calm," said Jacquelin of the weather conditions. "I was lucky enough to make three birdies at the start and I was playing really well.

"Like yesterday I made two bogeys at the end, but that is the game, especially on this course in these conditions."
