Reserve Justin Reed scored 17 points to lead Minnesota.

Mike James and Craig Smith scored 14 points apiece for the Timberwolves, who have dropped seven of their last nine, and will not have all-star Kevin Garnett, who is out indefinitely with an injured right quadriceps.
