MLB: Texas 8, Tampa Bay 4

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 9 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler went 4-for-4 Monday when the Texas Rangers came up with a six-run eighth inning to post an 8-4 victory over Tampa Bay.

Brandon McCarthy (1-1) worked six innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five. Kameron Loe gave up two runs and three hits in one inning of relief.

Nelson Cruz was 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for the Rangers, winners in three of their last four games.

Hank Blalock went 2-for-4 and scored twice, Michael Young finished 2-for-5 with two runs batted in and Frank Catalanotto drove in two runs.

Edwin Jackson (0-1) took the loss by giving up eight hits and four earned runs with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Shawn Camp and Ruddy Lugo were charged with two runs and two hits without recording an out in the sixth inning.

Akinori Iwamura drove in a pair of runs and Carl Crawford hit his third home run of the season for Tampa Bay.
