BUFFALO, N.Y., April 9 (UPI) -- St. Bonaventure is expected to name Robert Morris coach Mark Schmidt as its new men's basketball coach.

Schmidt, 44, will get a seven-year deal worth more than $2 million, The Buffalo News reported Monday. A press conference to announce his hiring has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday.

Schmidt had an 82-90 record in six years at Robert Morris. His team was 17-11 last season.

Before taking over the Robert Morris program, Schmidt served seven seasons at Xavier as an assistant coach.

Schmidt replaces Anthony Solomon, who guided the Bonnies to a 7-22 mark last season, including 4-12 in the Atlantic 10. Solomon had a 24-88 record at St. Bonaventure since being hired in May 2003.
