NBA: Detroit 87, Cleveland 82

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 8 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups scored six of his 14 points in the final three minutes Sunday afternoon to help the Detroit Pistons down the Cleveland Cavaliers, 87-82.

Cleveland was in front, 80-78, with 3:10 left in the game when Billups sank two consecutive shots for an 82-80 Detroit lead with a little over two minutes remaining.

Richard Hamilton led Detroit with 21 points and six assists.

Antonio McDyess had 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Billups also had 12 assists for the Pistons, who remained atop both the Central Division and the Eastern Conference.

LeBron James, who did not score in the first quarter, led Cleveland with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 15 points and six rebounds and Aleksandar Pavlovic had 14 points and six rebounds. Larry Hughes had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Cavaliers, who fell four games behind Detroit in the Central.
