CARSON, Calif., April 8 (UPI) -- Goals by Ante Razov and Sacha Kljestan Saturday night gave Chivas USA a 2-0 victory over new Major League Soccer franchise Toronto FC.
Chivas goaltender Brad Guzan made several big saves, including four in the first half to give his team a chance before Razov took a feed from Maykel Galindo to score the 99th goal of his MLS career in the 35th minute.
Kljestan added an insurance goal late in the second half by unleashing a shot that flew past Toronto goalkeeper Greg Sutton. It was Kljestan's first goal in his MLS career.
Razov has scored in three consecutive season openers, the last two when he played for Chivas USA. The 12-year veteran has 99 career goals.
Toronto had only one solid scoring chance in its inaugural MLS outing.
