DETROIT, April 7 (UPI) -- Mikael Samuelsson had two goals and three assists Saturday afternoon as the Detroit Red Wings closed their regular season with a 7-2 win over Chicago.

Kyle Calder also had two goals and Danny Markov, Tomas Holmstrom and Kyle Quincey each scored once.

The Red Wings closed the season with a 50-19-13 record and 113 points, good for the top seed in the Western Conference when the playoffs begin next week.

Radim Vrbata and Jeffrey Hamilton scored for the Blackhawks, who are last in the Central Division and will end their disappointing season Sunday against Dallas.
