NEW ORLEANS, April 3 (UPI) -- The New Orleans Saints acquired kicker Olindo Mare from the Miami Dolphins Tuesday for a sixth-round pick in this year's NFL Draft.

Mare has spent 10 seasons with Miami, but the Dolphins signed former New York Giants kicker Jay Feely in free agency.

While with the Dolphins Mare piled up 1,048 points. He was good on 26 of 36 field goal tries last season.

"The trade benefits Olindo," Miami General Manager Randy Mueller said, "because he is able to go someplace, kick indoors and extend his career. It will be a good move for him."
